How to search for someone to chat with:
To search for someone to chat with on Flirt.ie, you can enter some basic search criteria (Gender/Sexual Orientation and age range) in the ‘Online Now’ tab and click the ‘Search’ button – results matching your search criteria will be listed here.  To perform a more advanced search, click the ‘Advanced Search’ button to expand the search section. Here you can find people in your general area by specifying a location or search for people on the basis of interests or a term they’ve entered in their introduction.  In relation to location bases searches, we will never disclose your specified location to any user or 3rd party all searches are general (e.g. show me people in the south Dublin area)



How to Chat:
Find someone you’re interested in and simply click on their profile in the search results - this opens a Chat panel and you can enter your message to that user in the field at the bottom of this panel and click ‘Send’ – it’s just like using any instant messaging service. Pricing details for messages and your credit balance are shown at the bottom of the Chat panel so you always know how much you have to spend!! We’ll give you some free Chat credit when you register so you can start chatting straight away for FREE!

How to call someone in total confidence using Virtual Call:
Virtual Call is a unique feature on Flirt.ie that actually allows you to invite someone you've chatted with on Flirt.ie to have telephone call without sharing either parties mobile phone number. To send a Virtual Call request to a user simply Click the 'Call' button in the Chat Panel relating to the user. If your call request is accepted by the other person, then we'll give you a telephone number to call that will connect you directly to them without either party having to share their mobile phone number or any of their personal details. So now you can call directly to others users in total confidence and safety.

My Profile:
Everyone sets up a Flirt.ie profile when they register for free with Flirt.ie.  You need a profile to be able to chat with other people on Flirt.ie.

Your profile consists of the following:

You can change your Profile details anytime by clicking on the 'My Profile' panel once you've logged into Flirt.ie.
You can also update/view the following information in the 'My Profile' panel:

What if it says my PIN is incorrect
If you've forgotten your PIN, you can always have it re-sent to your mobile by SMS by clicking the 'Send PIN again' link which is generally available at any time you need to enter your PIN

Add / Remove Buddy:
Adding someone as a Buddy places them in your ‘Buddies’ list so you can find them easily any time you want to chat with them. To add someone as a buddy, click on their name in the search results to open a chat panel. Below their name and introduction are 2 icons (Block and Add Buddy), simply click on the Add Buddy Icon to add them to your list of ‘Buddies’.

To see a list of your buddies, click on the ‘Buddies’ Tab on the main page. To remove someone from your buddy list, click on their name to open a chat panel and click the Remove Buddy icon from below their profile.

Block / Unblocking:
Blocking someone stops all further communication with that person, both on the website and via SMS. To Block someone, click on their name to open a chat window. Below their profile there are 2 icons (Block and Add Buddy). Click on the Block icon

To see a list of Blocked people or to unblock someone, click on the ‘My Profile’ tab. Click the ‘Blocked Users’ tab to see Blocked users. To Unblock someone, click the Unblock icon beside their name.

View Recent Chats:
To view recent chats, click on the ‘Recent Chats’ tab on the main page. You will be presented with a list of people you’ve chatted with recently. To view those chats, click on the name to open a chat window and see the chat history.



My Inbox:
My Inbox shows all the messages you’ve received both from other users and information messages from Flirt.ie.  If you have received any messages while you were offline, they will appear in this area as unread messages. To reply to a message or see your full chat history with the person who sent you a message, click on the message to open a Chat panel - it’s just like e-mail!!



Changing your PIN:
To change your PIN simply select the ‘My Profile’ tab. From the My Profile window, select the ‘Change PIN’ tab.  Enter your old PIN followed by the new PIN you want to assign to your account.



Feedback:
Click on the Feedback link at the top of the page to send on your Compliments / Complaints / Suggestions to us.

The Chat Panel:
Open a Chat Panel by clicking on the name of any user in the search results of by clicking a users name in your Inbox, Recent Chats or Buddies.  The Chat Panel is your way of sending messages to a user but you can also Block the user or add them to your Buddies list using the Chat Panel.  Using the ‘Personal Notes’ tab you can also make notes that will relate specifically to the user in that Chat Panel and the system will remember them for you – maybe you’ll need a reminder that one of your buddies enjoys movies etc….so now you can just note it and it’s available any time you’re chatting with them!!

Is Flirt.ie free?:
You can browse profiles in Flirt.ie for FREE and there’s no charge to register and set up your own profile!!  You can be charged in Chat credit for sending/receiving messages to/from other users but we’ll give you some free credit when you sign up so you can start chatting with other users straight away. We’ll always let you know how much it costs to send or receive a message at the bottom of the Chat Panel and also how much Chat credit you’ve got left.

Once you’ve used your free credit you can top-up your Chat credit online by clicking the ‘Get Credits’ tab and selecting the amount of credit you require – we’ll then charge your mobile phone for the requested credit. Your current Chat credit balance is also available in the ‘My Profile’ tab.

When you’re not at a computer we’ll keep you updated by sending any chat messages for you to your mobile by SMS.  These messages will be charged against your Chat credi at a maxmum of 75c per message received (€2 minimum charge). 

If i forgot my PIN or username, what do I do?
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, you can always have it re-sent to your mobile by SMS by clicking the ‘Send PIN again’ link which is generally available at any time you need to enter your PIN.

Once you’ve logged in using your Mobile number and PIN you can always update your profile details in the My Profile tab of your account.
