Flirt.ie Safety Tips

Flirt.ie is a community. The good principles that you live your life by on the outside are what you should apply when using Flirt.ie. There is a list of Safety Tips below which can only point out certain things that we feel you should consider when using the Service or if you should continue contact with a Member outside the Service.

They are things that you no doubt already apply to your everyday life. Simply apply common sense and use your best judgement. Remember, you are responsible for your own behaviour. But most importantly, enjoy the Service and have fun flirting!

Your details are your own business
Unless you want the world to know where you live or what your contact details are, don’t include them on your profile page. If they’re out there, people can see them.

Don’t suffer fools lightly
You are entitled to use the Service whenever or wherever you like, not when someone else does. You are in control. Do not put up with any form of harassment, persistent annoyance or abuse;

If someone is sending inappropriate messages to you using any means of communication through which the Service allows, you can block them by using the functionality on the Website or in the Service. Please also let us know so that we can monitor their behaviour and ensure that another Member does not face a similar experience.
Stop communicating with people who you feel are looking for something you don’t want to give, be it time, or indeed anything else. Do not feel pressured into giving any information you don’t want to give or into meeting someone you don’t want to meet.
Don’t believe everything someone tells you. Take time to assess a Member’s genuine nature before revealing any personal details or before agreeing to meet off line.
Talk is Cheap. It’s easy for some people to email and correspond behind a keyboard and create a persona that is false and untrue, they can be whoever they want to be. Consider also using the telephone contact functionality of the Service to develop communications with another Member before progressing to a stage where you might be thinking of meeting them off line. You may be pleasantly surprised. Hopefully!

Put a face to the name
The Website and the Service accommodates photo and video aspects which allow Members to add these to their profile. If you find yourself communicating with another Member and they have no photo on their profile, ask yourself why. Better still, ask them why!

When the meet happens
Flirt.ie is not about dating, it’s about getting out of it what pleases you. It’s not a dating agency that provides you with endless profiles until you find one that you agree to talk to or one that will agree to talk to you! It’s about having fun and flirting with other adults, who like you, will all have their own agendas and expectations. What you do all have in common, is that you are all using Flirt.ie, a good common ground. It’s about using the most convenient and latest communication tools available today, to safely explore other people’s lives and share experiences. Inevitably, when relationships begin and flourish, be it out of expectancy, desire or inquisitiveness, the stage may come when you decide it is time for you to meet.
Please be careful. Aim to have developed a good understanding of the person through the Service before you arrange a meet.

Once again, use your common sense:

Make sure you meet in a safe, public place with lots of people around.
Tell someone close to you who you expect to meet, where and when you are meeting them and at what time you expect to be home.
Bring your mobile with you (with credit on it!) .
Agree with the person you are meeting how you are going to recognise each other, to avoid the initial awkwardness, of “are you…?”.
If you enjoy the odd alcoholic drink, try not to overindulge, it may cloud your judgement. Whilst some might say excess alcohol improves your judgement (!), we disagree and recommend that you drink sensibly at all times.
Always put your safety first. If it’s not going well, get out, go home and forget about it. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do or go anywhere you don’t want to go.
